Voice Description
Blessed with a naturally deep, warm and resonant voice, people have been telling me I have the authoritative "voice of God" since I was a teenager, which has had no small impact on my ego.
My natural voice is a flat, slightly sardonic Joe Friday/Walter Cronkite voice -- the kind of person you'd trust to give you "just the facts" or to tell you the news "the way it is", which is a great baseline to use for reads that require that dry, knowing attitude.
In the booth I have a tendency to cut loose from those boundaries, though, and because of that I not only bring crackle and sizzle to a passionate read but bring authenticity to that passion -- the voice of a normally calm, centered, knowledgeable man who's been moved to excitement because even he has to admit the product is a big deal.Primary Language

Experience
Arthur Chu, after bitterly clawing his way through one of the most prestigious and selective educational institutions in the United States, finally got his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Swarthmore College, and found himself lost in the milling sea of 20somethings wondering what to do with a degree in the humanities from a liberal arts college and running up against his quarterlife crisis.
After a brief period of meditation and bouncing from job to job, he realized that his passion had always lain not with his planned vocation in academia but with his avocation, which, since high school, had been theater and performance. Moreover, he realized that his happiest and most productive times had, whether they had been hosting a talk show on college radio, voicing video promos for the Free Culture student activist movement he helped found at Swarthmore, or performing as a disembodied voice for a production of Joyce Carol Oates' radical performance piece "Tone Clusters", been related to the field of voiceover.
Never one to be deterred from a challenge, he relocated to LA, bought as many books about voiceover as he could carry, sought out the best training he could and is now on the cusp of launching a brilliant career, marred only slightly by his arrogant, never-broken habit of writing performance bios in the third person.
Although his career is still just starting, he's already had the pleasure of contributing to projects as diverse as a regional advertising campaign for Intel to an independent fan-driven video game project. He can barely wait to see what the future has in store.Years of Experience

Payment Terms
My preferred means of payment is online; I am willing to accept checks or other forms of payment but would prefer not to unless absolutely necessary.
I only send auditions as partial scripts or, if a script is too short for me to send only an excerpt, as watermarked files, just to prevent misunderstandings; once I receive payment I'm glad to do whatever revisions or corrections necessary at no extra charge.
